New lawyers often enter the profession with strong academic knowledge but limited practical experience in managing clients, extracting facts, communicating professionally, or drafting coherent legal documents. 

This Module bridges that gap by giving learners a safe, structured environment to practise these foundational skills before entering real legal settings. Through immersive simulations and guided tasks, the program helps learners overcome common challenges such as handling nervous clients, structuring interviews, clarifying unclear details, managing time-pressured conversations, and writing professional notes, ultimately preparing them for the realities of legal practice.

Participants will complete a series of practical deliverables that mirror the workflow of a law firm, including a professional communication brief, a client intake summary, structured interview notes, a legal problem-definition exercise, a client advisory memo, a negotiation preparation sheet, and drafted legal documents such as letters, clauses, or short agreements.

Each deliverable is tied to a realistic case scenario or AI simulation and is evaluated on clarity, structure, professionalism, and application of legal skills - giving learners a tangible portfolio of work that demonstrates their readiness for practical legal roles.

Learners should have a basic understanding of legal terminology, strong written communication skills, and a willingness to engage actively in simulations and scenario-based tasks. 

An interest in client-facing legal work; such as litigation, dispute resolution, corporate advisory, or legal drafting, will help learners get the most out of the experience.
